Welcome to St Mary’s Pre-school

Based in the surprisingly spacious setting of St Mary’s Neighbourhood Centre, next to St Mary’s Church on Islington’s Upper Street, our pre-school welcomes 2-4 year olds between 9am and 4pm during term time.  We offer a warm welcome, a huge variety of interesting, fun and educational activities in a stimulating and light environment with a delightful, safe outside courtyard area.

Our ethos is first and foremost about the children, providing the best early years education and care it possibly can in a safe and loving environment being very conscious of the long term impact of these years in children’s lives. The Pre-School welcomes and encourages the active involvement of parents and other volunteers. We have an open door policy for enquiring parents.  Please feel free to visit our pre-school any morning between 9.30 and 11am and any afternoon between 1.30 and 3pm.  Contact details below.  Spaces are available.

 

A Typical Session

A typical morning or afternoon at pre-school will involve a mixture of led activities such as cooking, craft or a learning game, interspersed with free play indoors and out and story time and singing.  There will also be a break for a snack of toast and/or fruit.  Children staying for lunch will bring their own packed lunch.

Our Record

St Mary’s Neighbourhood Centre has been the home of a popular Pre-School (previously Playgroup) for over 30 years.   It received a GOOD Ofsted report in May 2011 and previously in January 2008.  Parents’ comments
